Pricing arrangements for SDA

The pricing arrangement, previously known as price guide for the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is a summary of the price limits that apply to the SDA provider of an NDIS participant.

Home Modifications, Assistive Technology and Consumables Price Guide

The most commonly used supports are Assistive Technology (AT), Home Modification and Consumables. The NDIA has different price limits for AT based on the following:

  • Low cost assistive technology should be under $1500 per item.
  • Mid cost assistive technology should be between $1500 and $15000 per item.
  • High cost assistive technology should be over $15,000 per item.

The participants do not require to provide quotes to the NDIS for assistive technology valued under $15, 000. However, a written evidence is required if the assistive technology is costing more than $1500. It is important to note, that price limits for AT assessment, training and guidance is generally funded through the capacity building support category. Even though AT and home modifications are funded under the capital support budget.

Price Guide for Disability Support Worker

Most of the NDIS participants require a qualified disability support worker. Supporting them with every day activities such as personal care, or transport or even accompanying them as a friend. The NDIA cost model for disability support workers outlines the price limits for every billable hour. The NDIS pricing guide is based on their level of experience, and includes base pay, holiday pay, employee allowances, non-billable activities, supervision cost and many more.

The NDIS pricing arrangements are reviewed every few months to ensure prices remain affordable while meeting quality needs of the NDIS participants, family, carers and providers.
